In Memoriam: Merrill Charles Embick (1917 - 2013)
Merrill Charles Embick, a member of the Lycoming Law Association, died on February 16, 2013.
His obituary:
Merrill Charles Embick, 95, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Manor Care in Jersey Shore. He was formerly of the Jersey Shore area.
He was born in Williamsport September 29, 1917.
Merrill graduated from Mifflinburg High School and received his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Pittsburgh. After retiring he practiced law in the Williamsport area.
He was a retired attorney for the National Labor Relations Board.
Merrill was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion.
He was predeceased by his first and second wives Mary "Mae" Elliot and Elizabeth A. Speese Seasholtz respectively, a stepdaughter Zee Layne Merkel and a stepson Robert Seasholtz.
Merrill is survived by one son, William Embick (Linda) of Shelburne, VT; three stepdaughters, Donna Jane (John) Weakley of MO, Glenda Kay (Louis) Myers and Therese Elizabeth "Terri" (Norm) Hager both of Avis; two grandchildren and several step grandchildren.
Merrill's Life Celebration will begin with a visitation from 6 – 8pm Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Services will be held 11am Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore with Pastor Helen Learn officiating. Interment will be held at his family's convenience in Mount Hope Cemetery, Penn Hills, Pa.
