RESOLUTIONS OF THE COMMITTEE

TO THE HONORABLE JUDGES OF THE COURT:

The Committee appointed by your Honorable Court to prepare Resolutions concerning the death of William Caprio III, Esquire, reports as follows:

William Caprio III was born November 13, 1946 at Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, He was the son of William and Helen Caprio. William Caprio III attended Lock Haven High School, graduating in 1964. He was graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, with a Bachelor of Arts in History, in 1969. He attended Villanova University School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1972.

Following his graduation, he relocated to Cogan Station and ran his family's lumber business, Caprio-Horner Timber Products, Inc.

William Caprio III was married on February 9, 1976, to Diane Lundy of Williamsport, Pennsylvania. They have two sons, William Caprio IV and John A. Caprio, and a daughter, Catherine A. Caprio.

He was, admitted to practice before the Courts of Lycoming County in 1976, and opened his offices at 531 Pine Street, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, in 1977. He had been admitted to legal practice before the Commonwealth, Superior and Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania. His law practice covered the fields of Federal and State criminal law, real estate, family and corporate law.

He was a member of the Lycoming Law Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

William Caprio III died in the early morning of April 9, 1989 in Williamsport Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Diane, sons, William and John, and daughter, Amy, and by his mother, Helen and sister, Jeanne Hawkes.

William Caprio was a respected member of the Bar of Lycoming County. He enjoyed life. He loved classical music, tennis, travel and was a gourmet cook. He enjoyed the practice of law above all else. Even as he battled cancer during the past several years, he never lessened the intensity with which he represented his client's interests.

As a result of his untimely death, his family has lost a dearly loved member, and his clients not only a skilled advocate, but a friend.

Your Committee recommends the adoption of the following Resolutions:

BE IT RESOLVED that in the passing of William Caprio III, there as been a loss to the Bar of Lycoming County of an able and conscientious member, to his family a kind and loving husband, father, son and brother, and to his friends and acquaintances, of a fine gentleman.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of these Resolutions be spread upon the records of this Court and that copies of the same be sent to his widow, his children, his mother and his sister.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Court and its Bar do hereby extend to his widow, his children, his mother and his sister a deep and heartfelt expression of sympathy by this Resolution.
