Lawctoberfest 2011

The LLA Young Lawyers division sponsored the sixth annual Lawctoberfest at the Holliday Inn, on October 1. The event benefits the Lycoming Law Association Foundation.

This year, the guests were again entertained by Jazz Band, featuring Charles Holmes from West Branch Drug and Alcohol Commission.

A silent auction raised money for the Foundation, along with admission fees.  This year's auction featured a number of items that were of interest to bidders.  The two hottest items were tickets to a 2012 Phillies game and a piece of custom jewelry from a local jeweler.  LLA president Bluth won the bid for a basket of chocolate, another item in demand.  Bids were also placed for ties, a book, a custom lamp, a handbag, and a number of other items.  At one point, Bob Cronin took to modeling the handbag to stimulate bidding.

The food was good, consisting of a menu of German dishes. The first course consisted of caramelized Pear Salad, beer noodle soup and soft pretzels. The main course followed with pork, bratwurst, sauerkraut, spätzle and Bavarian potato salad. Desserts included chocolate cake and baked apple dumplings.
