LLA gathers at Bowman Field for Picnic

About 35 LLA members and guests watched the Williamsport Crosscutters from the picnic area on a pleasant summer evening.

The game was to be followed by fireworks - but that was only for the most hearty of baseball fans.  The Cutters were winning in the 8th inning, when the Connecticut Tigers tied the score.  The Tigers finally won in the15th inning.  The fireworks started very late in the evening.

The highlight of the evening was a visit by Denny McLain, who pitched the Detroit Tigers to a World Series victory in 1968.  He won 31 games that year.  Although there were few Detroit fans among the LLA members, getting a signed photo was the thing to do.  Photos with Denny were also a bit of a novelty (he looks a bit different these days.)

As always, a good time by all.
