Yaw to be honored at Israel Bonds dinner

LLA member and state Sen. E. Eugene Yaw, R-Loyalsock Township will be honored on April 22, 2012, at the annual Central Pennsylvania State of Israel Bonds Dinner at the Community Arts Center. He will receive the Israel Unity Award.

Keynote speaker for the event will be Dr. Raanan Gissin, one of Israel's leading political advisors and a commentator on major Arab Networks. Gissin lectures on a wide range of issues including the Arab-Israeli conflict, radical Islamic terrorism, the Iranian threat, as well as challenges of globalization in Israel and the United States.

Yaw, who represents the 23rd Senatorial District, served as Lycoming County solicitor for 17 years and as general counsel to Pennsylvania College of Technology for more than 20 years.

He serves as chairman of the Environmental Resources and Energy, Law and Executive committees as well as the Majority Policy Committee and of the Center for Rural Pennsylvania.

Yaw has received the distinguished Citizen of the Year Award from Susquehanna Council, Boy Scouts of America, as well as the Lycoming College Alumni of the Year Award and the Cappa Community Partner Award.

Musical selections at the event will be provided by Williamsport Millionaires Strolling Strings with Mathew Radspinner as director.
