Rieders Travis firm Receives LSC Pro Bono Award

The Legal Services Corporation Board of Directors honored pro bono counsel from Pennsylvania in a Pro Bono Awards reception that was held on October 21, 2013 in Pittsburgh. The board recognized and presented awards to eight firms and attorneys from across Pennsylvania.

Those honored were nominated for recognition by LSC recipients in Pennsylvania.  Among those receiving an award was the Rieders, Travis, Humphrey, Harris, Waters and Waffenschmidt law firm of Lycoming County, nominated by North Penn Legal Services, Inc.

That event, the Pro Bono Awards Reception, was held at the K&L Gates law firm, with speakers including former Pennsylvania Governor and U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburgh and U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah.

There were also two distinguished panels, earlier in the day, discussing the importance of civil legal aid to the orderly functioning of the civil justice system. The panels were held in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court courtroom.
