The county court, on December 5, admitted six attorneys to practice before the "Several Courts of the Court of Common Pleas of Lycoming County." Although the ceremony was conducted in a formal manner, it has no legal significance. In the middle of the twentieth century, the state Supreme Court established a state-wide practice, opening the county courts to any attorney admitted in the Commonwealth.

The ceremony had a well intended purpose - to introduce new attorneys to the court and to the bar, and for the court and bar to welcome these attorneys to a friendly, 150 year old association of lawyers. The celebration culminated with a reception at the James.

The first attorney introduced to the court was Christopher S. Bradley, who is presently working with the Rieders Travis law firm. His admission was moved by Clifford Rieders. His is a graduate of Duquesne University School of Law.

District Attorney Kenneth A. Osokow moved the admission of Lee A. Fry, Fry is employed as an assistant in the district attorney's office. He graduated from the University of Miami School of Law.

Brandon R. Griest is currently employed by the McNerney Page law firm. He is a graduate of Penn State Dickinson School of Law. Michael H. Collins moved his admission.

John G. Himes' admission was moved by Rich Schluter. He graduated from Penn State Law, and is employed by the McCormick Law Firm.

Morgan M. Madden is also employed by the McCormick Law Firm. Her admission was moved by Brian J. Bluth. She attended Widener University, Delaware Law School.

First Assistant District Attorney Martin Wade moved the admission of Devin V. Walker, who will be working in the district attorney's office. She is a graduate of Penn State Law.

Suzanne M. Fedele, Prothonotary, then administered the oath. Welcoming remarks by Judges Tira, Linhardt, McCoy, Lovecchio and Butts followed.

Law Association President Christian Frey welcomed the new members and gave them a gift of the Historical Sketches of the Bench and Bar Of Lycoming County. Taylor Mullholand invited the new members to participate in the Young Lawyers Division and Corey Mowrey encouraged the new attorneys to join the Inns of Court.

John Pietrovito encouraged pro bono work and provided the attorneys with a letter listing the opportunities to volunteer.

During the event, the Lycoming County Commissioners presented a citation recognizing the 150 year anniversary of the Association. The presentation was made by Commissioner Mussare and accepted by all of the previous bar presidents who were present at the ceremony.

The Lycoming Law Association welcomes our new members wishes them well in their new positions.
