Montoursville Mock Trial Team Wins Regional Competition

The 2024 Pennsylvania Mock Trial competition is underway. Perennial competitor Montoursville High School is on its way back to the state final in Harrisburg.

The competition began with 262 teams from 215 high schools from across the Commonwealth, which competed in district and regional competitions.  Montoursville won three district level trials, and on March 11, 2024, won the regional trial. 

The case involves a murder with multiple suspects. The competitive restaurant business led to a terrible crime, which the students try to unwind in the trial.

Student advisor, Susan Earl, provides school support while LLA member Nicole Ippolito advises on the legal issues. Nicole commented, "Susan Earl and I cannot be more proud of the students because their success comes from their hard work and dedication to this competition."

In January, the team competed in the University of Pittsburgh Cathedral Classic, where they walked away with a first place award. The competition involved a total of 47 teams.
