Association Recognizes Dr. David Bower for Service to the Community
Over the years, the Lycoming Law Association has on occasion recognized a member of the community for public service in a way that impacts the legal community. At the 2025 annual banquet, Judge Gardner introduced one community member who has tirelessly worked to educate the public on the dangers of the abuse of alcohol, particularly related to driving while drunk.
Dr. David Bower's advocacy was born of tragedy - the death of another by his hand. He served prison time for his offense, but left prison with a determination to educate the public on the dangers of DUI. He became a professor and taught at Lock Haven University for 33 years. But during that time he served as a member of the West Bank Drug and Alcohol Commission, Veterans court volunteer, on the DUI Advisory Commission and spoke to countless schools and organizations to educate the public.
The Lycoming Bar Association commends Dr. Bower for his service to the community on this important issue.
