Volunteers Needed for Wills for Heroes Event

The Lycoming Law Association is very pleased to announce that a Wills for Heroes event has been scheduled for Lycoming County on Saturday, April 12, 2025.  This event provides basic estate planning documents, at no cost, to military and first responders.  This is a great way for the legal profession to show its commitment to "protecting those who protect us."  It is also a great pro bono opportunity for attorneys who are not able to serve on the protection from abuse panel or represent clients in court.

Each attorney who volunteers will attend a training session on the morning of the event and receive two free CLE credits (1 substantive and 1 ethics).  If you provide services to heroes from the start of appointments through the end of the day, you will be eligible for a third CLE credit through PBA’s Pro Bono Coordinator.  You do NOT need to be an estate planning attorney to volunteer.

In addition to needing attorney volunteers, we also need notaries and sponsors for the event.  All firms/attorneys who contribute by way of a sponsorship will be acknowledged, and a list of sponsors is provided to each hero who attends.

If you can assist with volunteering/sponsoring this event, please let me know!  Please also invite your notaries to consider volunteering with us.

Thank you all in advance for your support of the LLA’s Wills for Heroes in Honor of Kristine Waltz program.
