Federal District Court Judge McClure's Portrait Dedicated

On Friday, May 17, 2013, the Judges of the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania dedicated the portrait of its longtime member, The Honorable James McClure.  The event took place in the Williamsport federal court house where Judge McClure presided for over 20 years.

Chief Judge Yvette Kane presided over the ceremony that was attended by all of the active judges of the district, most of the senior judges, magistrates and bankruptcy judges.

Judge McClure's law partner of many years, Terry Light, and his first law clerk and current Union County District Attorney, Pete Johnson, offered remarks about Judge McClure.  Among other characteristics, Judge McClure was respected for his intellect, his courtesy toward counsel and litigants, and his gentlemanly demeanor at all times.

The portrait artist spoke about the portrait and his experience in painting it.

Mrs. Betty Lou McClure was presented with a replica of the plaque that will accompany the portrait, by Judge Matthew Brann.  Mrs. McClure concluded the ceremony with a few comments.
