Installation of Magistrate Judge William Arbuckle

Lycoming Law Association member William Arbuckle was installed as United States Magistrate Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania on October 26, 2017, in the Williamsport Federal Courthouse. Chief Judge Christopher Conner presided at the event, which was attended by most of the judges serving in the Middle District, including District Judges Yvette Kane, Robert Mariani, Malachy Mannion, Matthew Brann, James Munley, Sylvia Rambo, William Caldwell and Richard Caputo; and Magistrate Judges Susan Schwab, Martin Carlson, Karoline Mehalchick, and Joseph Saporito; and Bankruptcy Judges Robert Opel, John Thomas and Jenry Van Eck.

Judge Arbuckle had been serving as a part-time magistrate judge, but was recently nominated for an 8-year term as a full time magistrate judge. He will preside in Williamsport. He recently moved to Lycoming County and joined the Lycoming Law Association.

The ceremony included remarks by retired Chief Public Defender Martin Wade, Susan Davis, the Executive Director of the Pa. Minor Judiciary Education Board and Steven Trialonas, former law partner.

Afterwards, all were invited to the Genetti Hotel for a reception.
