Fred Holland Recognized for Community Service
Receives William E. Nichols Community Service Award
At the 2017 LLA Annual Banquet, the Association recognized one of its own for his service to the community. President Ryan Tira presented Fred Holland with the William E. Nichols Community Service Award.
The Nichols award is not given every year. It is only awarded to a member of the Lycoming Law Association in recognition of outstanding commitment to community service beyond the practice of law.
In making the award, President Tira discussed the breadth of Fred's Community involvement. He has been active with the Williamsport Kiwanis Club, the Lycoming County Health Improvement Coalition, and the Susquehanna Community Health and Dental Center. He has been seen on stage performing with the Community Theatre League, the Williamsport Chamber Choir & Orchestra, the Williamsport Civic Chorus, and Lycoming College.
Fred also serves many arts and non-profit organizations behind the scenes, often providing legal services to get non-profit organizations started. He served on the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra Board, the Community Health and Dental Center Board, the Lycoming County Health Coalition and was President of the Board for the Williamsport Chamber Choir & Orchestra from 2005-2011. He performed pro bono work for Habitat for Humanity. He was instrumental in the formation of the paralegal Association.
He currently serves on the Fundraising Committee for the Community Theater League and on the Board of K’s for Cancer, where he serves as Chairman.
Fred has also served the Association as past president and he currently chairs the Real Estate Committee.
The LLA will donate $1000 in Fred Holland's name to a charity of his choice.
Congratulations to Fred as a shining example of a lawyer who gives back to his community.
