Celebrating Law Day 2001
Law Day 2001 was celebrated at the Lycoming County Court House, on Friday, May 4, 2001. The winners of the Lycoming Law Association sponsored essay contest presented their work for the first time to the audience.
The topic for elementary students was "Should the government be able to limit violence on the television, in movies, and on the Internet?" The winning essays in this category were presented by Jolene Hiller, Nathan Frailey, Kyle Wagner, Christopher Bowes, Tessa Vermilya and Rodrick Persun.
Middle and high school students wrote on the topic: "Should random searches of lockers and backpacks of students be allowed under the Fourth Amendment?" The winning entries were written by Caroline Mahoney, Stephonie Dougherty and Keith Jaenke.
